Five file for Ward 3 Raymore City Council vacancy

FROM THE CITY OF RAYMORE: Due to Richard Hall’s resignation from Raymore City Council, a vacancy currently exists for Ward 3 Council representation.

With the advertised filing deadline now passed, five individuals have applied for this Council seat: Janelle Biernbaum, Kyle Ervin, Jay Holman, Robert Piepho and Marvin Shaw.

Council will conduct a public meeting to interview these applicants and receive information from Ward 3 residents who are eligible to vote at 7 p.m. on Monday, August 5, at Raymore City Hall.

Thereafter, the Council – by majority vote of its remaining members – will appoint one of these applicants to fill the vacancy until the next regular municipal election in April 2014, at which time this seat will be up for election for a two-year term. Should the Council determine no qualified person has applied, the application process will be repeated until a qualified applicant has been appointed.

Materials for the special City Council meeting, including the applications for each candidate, may be found on the City’s Web site at www.raymore.com/Archive.aspx?ADID=1796.

Anyone with questions may contact the City Clerk’s office at 816-331-3324.
