Welcome to the Club

The second-oldest Sam’s Club in the United States is changing locations, and it’s coming to Raymore.

The store is currently located in Grandview, but on October 30, it will officially be relocated to Dean Avenue in Raymore. This relocation will actually be the third move for the same store, and this time it will be gaining around 30,000 square feet of sheer space, not to mention several more accommodations for its customers.

General Manager Desirée Rutledge is excited for the change that is coming, describing the new location as the “newest, best, brightest thing.”

Sam’s Club will be offering a pharmacy, hearing centers, HMS (Home Meal Solutions), floral, and expanded café selections, in addition to the services offered before. For those unfamiliar with the expanse of Sam’s Club services and merchandise, the store also has a technology section, a tire department, grocery, books and videos, office supplies, fine jewelry, clothing, accessories, fresh produce, a meat section, a bakery, and much more.

“It’s all under one roof,” said Rutledge.

The tire department typically offers a special deal every month, and it also will be extending a new service—headlight reconditioning.

Tech experts add to the convenience of the technology area. The experts are available to serve members for free, with the knowledge to help a customer with all kinds of troubleshooting and advice, from designing a cell phone plan to understanding a home surveillance system.

ping hours Monday through Saturday. The store does not open to all its members until 10 AM, but Plus members have access to the store from 7 AM until 10 AM. Plus members also get extra optical and pharmacy discounts, among other bonuses.

Sam’s Club also offers a “Click ‘n’ Pull” service. This allows customers to have their own Sam’s “personal shopper.” Simply by placing an order the night before by 5 PM, a customer may come to the store the next day and retrieve the items ordered. Customers may place their orders online or via fax.

The new pharmacy service is also focused on customer convenience. The goal is to provide quick service for all customers, but it also offers a cell phone alert system to notify a customer via call or text of a prescription that is ready for pickup, if the customer decides not to wait. Savings on name brand prescriptions will be up to 8%, and savings on generic brands will be up to 40%. Free monthly health screenings will also be offered.

Coming soon to Sam’s Club will be the “Holiday Taste of Sam’s,” a 6-day event in which customers can try a variety of samples as they plan for the holidays.

Rutledge emphasized how giving back is important to Sam’s Club. “We’re very involved with the community,” she said.

Tens of thousands of dollars were given back to the local community last year, and store employees also accumulate volunteer hours.

Kansas City-area and Missouri-made products can also be found on the shelves, as the business seeks to sell products made in the area.

In the end, Sam’s Club cares about the people it serves and the community they live in.

“We built this club for our members,” said Rutledge.

Sam’s Club hopes to make customers feel at home and to provide them with value, savings, and personal components.

The grand opening for the Raymore Sam’s Club will be Wednesday, October 30, at 8:30 AM.
