Beautiful Savior receives honor

BELTON — Beautiful Savior Lutheran Home was honored with a noteworthy award last week, giving staff and management good reason to celebrate. Mobile Wound Solutions, LLC (MWS), located out of Independence, Richmond Heights, and Omaha, came to Belton to recognize Beautiful Savior with the First Annual Quality Award “for their dedication and commitment to service with excellence” in Region 3.

To qualify for this honor, MWS explained the Beautiful Savior had exceptional qualities of care, including the following: less than 5% acquired pressure ulcers annually (which excels more than 85% of other long-term care facilities in Missouri); an average wound healing time of 32 days, as opposed to the national average of 64; the establishment of “wound protocols and quality assurance for wound prevention”; and much more.

Martha Kelso, Chief Operating Officer of MWS, along with Kristi Robinette, Chief Nursing Officer, and Brandon Arnold, Vice President of Commercial Operations, came to give the award to Beautiful Savior. Brenda Buford, Administrator of Beautiful Savior. Ella Wathor, Wound Nurse, and Donna Owings, Director of Nursing, received the award before the staff of the Beautiful Savior. Buford congratulated and thanked the entire staff for their combined efforts.

“Beautiful Savior has risen above the standards of wound care in long term care through their persistence and dedication to providing service with excellence to residents with wounds,” remarked Kelso after the event. ”Their team consistently seeks knowledge and advances wound care with their knowledge and willingness to learn. Their quality assurance program allows oversight of wound healing and our advanced wound providers round weekly to ensure consistency and appropriate treatments making Beautiful Savior an excellent place to recover quickly from wounds.”
