Harrisonville to induct 2 members into Distinguirshed Alumni
The Harrisonville Public School Foundation will induct two Harrisonville High School graduates into the HHS Distinguished Alumni Wall of Fame as part of Homecoming festivities on Sept. 10. Danny Carmichael, class of 1978, and Taylor Moreland, class of 2009, will be honored during a halftime ceremony at the football game. The public is invited to congratulate them during a reception in the Harrisonville Middle School cafeteria from 5:30-6:30 p.m. that night.

Cass County goes 5-2 in opening week of football
Missouri’s Cass County played into the final week during the 2020 football season, with Raymore-Peculiar earning the Class 6 state championship, the County has gotten off to a winning start in 2021 as well.

Panthers open 2021 with 20-14 win
The Raymore-Peculiar Panther football team extended its winning streak to six games this past Friday night with a 20-14 victory over Kansas City Rockhurst.

Cass County Health Foundation 5K moved to Southwick
BELTON, Mo., (Aug. 19, 2021) – The 27th Annual 5K for Health, hosted by Cass Community Health Foundation, has been moved to Southwick Stadium in Belton, Missouri. The stadium is part of the Belton School District and is located behind Belton High School.

Face masks will be required for all students in Ray-Pec district
The School Board voted 6-0-1 Friday night to require all students in early childhood through 12th grade to wear face coverings in all indoor settings when physical distance cannot be achieved.

Schnake named teacher of year semifinalist
Ray-Pec Teacher of the Year Todd Schnake, who was selected as one of 17 semi-finalists for Missouri 2022 Teacher of the Year. These teachers were selected from 35 Regional Teachers of the Year across the state. Next, DESE will reveal the finalists for the 2022 Missouri Teacher of the Year award on Thursday, September 2.
Hamilton helps set new Master track & field world record
Ames, Iowa – Local resident and lawyer, Matt Hamilton was in disbelief when he was informed the time from his shuttle hurdle relay established a new world record. Hamilton and his team won the gold medal for the event. The four team members took a photo pointing to the time capturing their victory. This new track & field world record was set at the United States Track and Field (USATF) national championship.
