Ray-Pec school board approves sale of bonds
The Ray-Pec School Board on Tuesday night approved the sale of $72 million in general obligation bonds. The Board approved a resolution to accept Morgan Stanley as the low bidder for the $72 million bond sale at 1.623978 percent. The District had a high rating of AA+ for the bond sale, which resulted in a favorable bidding environment with eight bidders on the bond issue. Ray-Pec voters on April 6 approved Proposition S, the district’s $72 million no-tax-rate-increase bond issue. More information

Variety KC Inclusive Sprayground is open at T.B. Hanna Station
The newly renovated park offers a permanent restroom (open year-round), the Variety KC Inclusive Playground and Variety KC Inclusive Sprayground, picnic tables, big shade trees and The Depot, a large covered pavilion that houses an ice rink in the winter months.

Belton’s first ever micro-brewery is finally open.Broken Hatchet Brewing offers a variety of handcrafted craft beers brewed right on Belton’s Main Street. The idea for Broken Hatchet Brewing was born from co-owner and brew master Brad Steele’s love of brewing craft beer. He started by brewing small batches in his garage and soon realized brewing was his passion.

18,000 Pounds of Electronics Responsibly Disposed of May 8
Cass Countians responded overwhelmingly for an opportunity to properly dispose of their old electronics at the 1st Annual E-Waste Collection Event held at the Ray-Pec campus on the corner of School Road at Peculiar Way, May 8, 2021. This event was possible through a partnership of the Cass County Sustainability Committee, the Ray-Pec School District, and Meredith Recycling, Montrose, MO. The Ray-Pec Robotic Team was on hand, as they have been the last two years at the Annual E-Waste Collection Events at The Family Center parking lot, Harrisonville, MO, to unload electronics from vehicles.
