Belton chamber awards $1,000
The Belton Chamber of Commerce is proud to announce the award of $1,000 to Downtown Belton Main Street, Inc. which was made possible through a grant won for a local arts related project. This year DBMSI brought the first Art Walk to Main Street on Saturday, June 8 with 10 great artists, rock painting, face painting, chalk art, music and several businesses also participated with art displays and DIY classes.

Watkins family farm to become open air museum
Cass County will soon have an exciting new educational site. The Charles and Mary Jane Watkins Farm, just south of Raymore, has been generously donated to the Marais des Cygnes Society. The Society plans to develop Watkins Farm into an interactive educational site showcasing rural life in Cass County, Missouri—primarily as it existed in the 1920’s and 1930’s.
