National Vietnam War Veterans Day
The Ray-Pec Sunrise Optimist Club met March 30th at the Belton VFW in a joint meeting to recognize those who served in Vietnam. The occasion was National Vietnam War Veterans Day. March 29th is the official day to commemorate the service and sacrifices made by the nearly 3 million service members who served in Vietnam. President Barack Obama signed a presidential proclamation in 2012 designating the annual observance of Vietnam War Veterans. “Old Town Belton” gets final approval
BELTON, MO – The Belton City Council approved the proposed Chapter 353 Old Town Belton Redevelopment Plan at its March 30 meeting. The program’s intent is to stimulate revitalization within the 111-acre district using this funding mechanism that gives property owners real property tax abatement in exchange for significant improvements to their structures.

Yes for Proposition S
On Tuesday, April 6, Raymore residents hit the ballot box for the general municipal election. In addition to several open seats, voters said “Yes” to Proposition S, but “No” to the local use sales tax and Metropolitan Community College question.

8 Ray-Pec choir members named to All-State list
Recently, RPSINGS members who were selected for the West Central All-District Choir auditioned for the Missouri All-State Choir. For the 30+ schools in the West Central District who had students selected for the All-District Choir, there are only 24 spots in the All-State Choir. This includes 4 for each voice part and 2 alternates. This is the highest honor a singer can receive in the state of Missouri.
