The USDA recently announced an extension of a waiver allowing for the Seamless Summer Option (SSO) program to be extended through the end of the school year.This waiver will allow the Ray-Pec Child Nutrition Department to continue to provide completely FREE breakfast and lunch meals to all children up to age 18 residing within the district. The individual games happened on different nights, but the Raymore-Peculiar boys and girls basketball teams swept Cass County rival Belton this past week.The Ray-Pec boys began the sweep with an 55-54 overtime victory Wednesday night and the Lady Panthers followed suit on Friday night when Samantha Hellums sank a field goal at the buzzer to defeat the Belton girls 40-38. An end to the COVID-19 pandemic is within sight with the authorization of use for two vaccines.The Cass County Health Department currently has a plan underway to distribute those vaccines as they become available, including an online survey for all residents to take to be notified of their turn.
