2020 in review from a Raymore perspective

Editor’s Note : This is the final part in a three-part series looking at 2020 in review. This week’s look is at the last four months, September, October, November and December of 2020. Ray-Pec upsets Rockhurst 42-34 — The Raymore-Peculiar High School football team opened its 2020 football season last Friday night by knocking off perenial power Kansas City Rockhurst 42-34.

End to COVID-19 pandemic is in sight

An end to the COVID-19 pandemic is within sight with the authorization of use for two vaccines.
The Cass County Health Department currently has a plan underway to distribute those vaccines as they become available, including an online survey for all residents to take to be notified of their turn.

Ray-Pec schools got back in session last week

Ray-Pec schools resumed this week. Students resumed their in-person, ViPR (virtual), or A/B schedules on Monday, Jan. 11. (Note: Some students with classes through Launch or at off-site programs will resume classes on different dates. Please check for emails or other communication from those off-site programs.)

Ray-Pec basketball teams each win games against Belton

The individual games happened on different nights, but the Raymore-Peculiar boys and girls basketball teams swept Cass County rival Belton this past week.
The Ray-Pec boys began the sweep with an 55-54 overtime victory Wednesday night and the Lady Panthers followed suit on Friday night when Samantha Hellums sank a field goal at the buzzer to defeat the Belton girls 40-38.
