4th of July celebrations still happening
While the COVID-19 pandemic which the world is currently battling has canceled many 4th of July celebrations across the country, including Raymore’s Spirit Of Pride annual celebration, which has been rescheduled to be conducted September 11. Many citizens across the country, including in Raymore, were still in the spirit to celebrate the birthday of the United States by conducting individual parties and get-to-gethers with fireworks and enjoying the company of fellow American’s during the summer of 2020.
C.A.N. Program is conducting Donation Drive
The City of Raymore, South Metro Fire Protection District and Raymore Chamber of Commerce are teaming up to donate needed items to the Ray-Pec Cares and C.A.N. Programs for area students.

Summer school to begin July 6
After more than 3 1/2 months away from the classroom, some students will return to school in person on Monday, July 6.

Letter from Ray-Pec’s new superintendent, Mike Slagle
Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Mike Slagle, and I am extremely happy to be your new Ray-Pec superintendent of schools as of today, July 1. I come to you after having spent the first 26 years of my education career in Johnson County on the Kansas side, and I have appreciated getting to know the Ray-Pec community. My wife and I recently moved into the Ray-Pec School District, and we feel very welcomed into this community. I look forward to working with an outstanding team in serving our students.

Harrisonville has in-person graduation
Harrisonville High School presented diplomas to seniors at commencement exercises on Friday, June 26. The Class of 2020 graduation included the Pledge of Allegiance led by Class President Madison Hoffman, the National Anthem by Rebekah Bartlett, and a student address by Hoffman.
