Cass County’s jail has new look
Cass County residents are not likely to see a “No Vacancy” sign at 2501 W. Mechanic Street in Harrisonville anytime. That is where the county jail sits, and it just received more rooms for those needing a place to stay, usually involuntarily.

Area students continue earning honors at various colleges
OLATHE, Kansas – MidAmerica Nazarene University recently announced its President’s, Dean’s List and Honor Roll for the spring 2020 semester. A total of 383 students qualified for one of the honors.
Belton City buildings reopened to public June 1
Effective Monday, June 1, lobbies in the Belton city hall and annex will reopen to the public from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Special recommendations and some restrictions will apply to accommodate state direction regarding basic infection prevention measures.
4H helps Melzer siblings unite in good times
My name is Case Melzer. I am 14 years old and this is my 7th year in 4-H (10 years including Clover Kids). I am currently the President of Wal-Center 4-H Club. I joined 4-H because my parents, grand-parents and great grand-parents were in 4-H before me and also because I wanted to be able to show my dairy cows at the fair.
