Paul Turner will be the new assistant principal at Ray-Pec South Middle School, effective July 1. The Ray-Pec School Board approved the hiring at its Jan. 28 meeting.

This is the list of names that were honored by Raymore-Peculiar East and South Middle Schools for their academic achievements during the Fall of 2020 academic semester.The Principal’s Honor Roll includes students with a Grade Point Average of 3.5 or higher. The Honor Roll includes students with a GPA of 3.0 to 3.49.

Highway 58 Roundabout plans move along
The Raymore city council’s Jan. 25th meeting was a short one, with plans for a roundabout at Highway 58 and Prairie Lane moving along, a new member to the Planning and Zoning Commission and the return of the Show Me Green Sales Tax holiday.

Ray-Pec school board places $72 million bond issue on ballot
The Board of Education on Jan. 21 approved placing a $72 million no-tax-rate-increase bond issue on the ballot for April 6, 2021. The bond issue would support priorities identified in the recently-adopted long-range facility plan.

Belton names Lyons police chief
