Cass County suffered its first loss of the high school football season last week and the county, via Belton High School, suffered its first cancelation due to the COVID-19 pandemic which has put sports at every level into question.

Raymore’s Hineman completes Missouri Military Academy Cadre Leadership Training
MEXICO, MO (September 2, 2020) – On August 4, 2020, Skyler Hineman from Raymore, Missouri graduated from Missouri Military Academy’s (MMA) Cadre Leadership Camp, which provides an intensive leadership training regimen that hones leadership and team building skills so cadets can effectively serve as leaders in the Missouri Military Academy 132nd Corps of Cadets.

No increase to Ray-Pec tax rate for ’20-’21 school year
No increase in the tax rate. That’s what taxpayers will get after the Ray-Pec School Board approved the 2020 tax levy rate at $5.1823 during last week’s meeting.

Ray-Pec hit with multiple COVID-19 infections
On Aug. 30, parents received an email informing them a student at Raymore-Peculiar High School had tested positive for COVID-19. That email was followed by another, and another and yet another informing them of additional students at the high school testing positive. At the time, school had not been in session for even two weeks.
