After the city’s annual budget for fiscal year 2021 was proposed on Aug. 18, the City of Raymore is seeking feedback from residents. Public meetings are scheduled for fall.

Community Bank’s “Stuff the Bus” event, once again is successful
Community Bank of Raymore held their annual “Stuff the Bus” School Supply Drive and the results were amazing. “It is truly humbling to see the compassion our community has for one another and this year was no different. In fact, what was experienced over the last three weeks was absolutely remarkable. Giving back was the evident theme in so many hearts this year,” Shauna Stephenson, Senior Vice President stated. The event received over $5,000 in monetary donations and supplies resulting in approximately 600 local students receiving the tools to help make the upcoming school year a success!

Harrisonville classes begin both in-person, online
Harrisonville Schools will welcome students – both in-person and virtually – for the first day of class on Monday, August 24. Families had the option to choose the best format for their students – 75% of students chose in-person and 25% chose virtual.

Ray-Pec’s 1st day of school for 20-21 year was Monday
The first day of school for the Ray-Pec school district was this past Monday, Aug. 24. “B-day” students in grades 6-12 started school Tuesday, Aug. 25, and did not need to report to school on Monday.

Ray-Pec facing new concerns with in-person schooling
The school year is officially underway in the Raymore-Peculiar School District. However, just days before students returned on Monday, Aug. 24, an employee at two different schools within the district tested positive for COVID-19, as well as one student-athlete, raising further concerns regarding in-person classes.

Ray-Pec 2020 Fall Sports set to kick off this weekend
The Ray-Pec High School sports season is set to kick off this weekend. The Ray-Pec football team will get its season underway this Friday night when the Panthers kick off their regular season at 7 p.m. at Kansas City Rockhurst. The Ray-Pec girls’ golf team will begin its season Friday morning at Hoots Hollow while the Ray-Pec softball team will play its season opener Friday morning at Adair Park. The Ray-Pec volleyball team will have its junior varsity see its first action of the school year on Saturday at Staley High School.

Fall sports practices have began
Members of the 2020 Raymore-Peculiar High School fall sports teams get their first opportunities this past week to get aquarinted with their teammates and coaches in preparation for the upcoming sports season. Practice for all of the Fall Sports began preparation for the 2020 season Monday, Agust 10.
