Cass County invited to help with 5K for Health fundraising goal

Cass Community Health Foundation is inviting Cass County community members and area businesses to participate in the 28th Annual 5K for Health and help raise $75,000 for their safety net dental clinic, Cass County Dental Clinic. The 5K raises money for patients who receive dental care at clinic locations in Belton and Harrisonville. In 2021, nearly 3,700 children and teens were treated.

After a decade of serving Raymore, police Chief Jan Zimmerman will retire later this year, setting the stage for the city’s search for a new police chief.

A Raymore man has been charged with involuntary manslaughter for the death of his mother that occurred three years ago.
Norman Richey, 61, of Raymore is being charged with one count of second-degree involuntary manslaughter in connection to the death of his mother, Ruth Richey. In March 2019, emergency crews were dispatched to Ms. Ruth’s home on Poseidon Way in reference to an elderly abuse investigation.

The day started chilly but warmed up once the rubber of more than a hundred bicycle tires hit the pavement at Dave’s Bike Shop for the third annual Crankin’ Into Spring community bike ride and event.
On the morning of Saturday, April 9, dozens of cyclists embarked on a 13-, 27- or 63-mile journey through north Cass County.
