Local artist’s ‘Angels of Inspiration’ inspires cancer survivors

Cancer can be the source of both fear and inspiration, depending on how each individual approaches the topic. For local artist Vincent T. Fallis, his wife’s, Mia, battle with cancer is the source of inspiration for his art.
Fallis’ “Angels of Inspirations” is the latest art exhibit being featured in the City Council Chamber Gallery. An encaustic photographer, his 11 original works of art pop to life, visually and emotionally.

Petitions to legalize the recreational use of marijuana in Missouri are making the rounds. That can potentially mean good things for the state’s economy after a recent report reveals that the legalization of medical marijuana has created nearly one in 10 new Missouri jobs.
State government data shows 77,600 jobs were created from December 2020 to December 2021.

In the Raymore-Peculiar School District, at the Administrative Services Center, there are three departments that have student interns working with full-time employees.
Two opportunities are offered through the Finance and Communications departments. Abe Lewis will be the Director of the new LEAD Center, which is under construction at M-58 and Foxridge Dr. in Raymore. LEAD stands for Learning, Experiences, And Discovery. The center will open in August 2022 with several programs for Raymore-Peculiar High School students.
The School Board approved the hiring during its Jan. 27 meeting. The new position begins this summer.

Evergy Missouri West is planning to make some annual adjustments that will likely result in a higher energy bill. A winter storm from a year ago is to blame.
Evergy Missouri West filed a request with the Missouri Public Service Commission to modify the fuel adjustment charge on the bills of its electric customers. The adjustment reflects fuel and purchased power costs for the six-month period of June 2021 through November 2021.
